The anticipation for the ninth edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup has reached a fever pitch as the Trophy Tour for the upcoming tournament kicked off in grand style at the iconic Empire State Building in New York. Two cricketing legends, two-time T20 World Cup champion Chris Gayle and USA bowler Ali Khan, illuminated the famous skyscraper, marking the countdown to what promises to be an ‘Out of this World’ cricket extravaganza.

Scheduled to commence on June 1, 2024, the T20 World Cup will be a historic event as it marks the first ICC tournament hosted in the United States. Spanning across the USA and the West Indies, the tournament will unfold across three magnificent venues: the newly constructed 34,000-seater Nassau County International Stadium in New York, the renovated Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium in Dallas, and the Broward County Stadium in Lauderhill.

New York, the vibrant metropolis, will host eight thrilling matches, while Grand Prairie and Lauderhill will each witness four electrifying encounters. As co-hosts, the West Indies will feature matches at iconic cricketing venues across their picturesque islands, including Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad and Tobago.

The Trophy Tour is set to captivate cricket enthusiasts across 15 countries spanning four continents. From sporting teams and stadiums to famous landmarks and legendary cricketers, the tour promises to invite fans to partake in the ‘Out of this World’ cricket festival and catch a glimpse of the T20 World Cup’s most coveted prize.

In a bid to expand cricket’s reach, the Trophy will also travel to emerging cricket nations in the Americas, such as Argentina, Brazil, and Canada, enticing new fans to the sport. Claire Furlong, ICC General Manager of Marketing and Communications, expressed immense excitement, stating, “With less than three months to go until the first ball of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, there is huge anticipation for what will be a historic event for cricket in the Americas.”

Fans worldwide will have the opportunity to follow the Trophy Tour through ICC’s social media channels and the T20 World Cup site, ensuring that the excitement resonates across the globe. Moreover, responding to overwhelming demand, the ICC has released additional tickets for 51 out of the 55 matches. These tickets are now available for matches in all nine host locations, providing fans with the chance to secure their World Cup experience.

The Trophy Tour Schedule for the first month has been unveiled, with stops planned in New York, Houston, Grand Prairie, Dallas, Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, Jamaica, Barbados, Antigua and Barbuda, and Saint Lucia.
