Mumbai Indians leader Hardik Pandya committed a serious breach of the IPL Code of Conduct during their clash with Punjab Kings in Mullapur last Thursday. The team’s slow over-rate led to a hefty fine of Rs 12 lakhs, a significant penalty for their narrow nine-run victory over Punjab Kings.

According to the IPL official statement, Pandya incurred the fine for the team’s failure to maintain the minimum over-rate, marking their first offense of offenses.

“Hardik Pandya, captain of the Mumbai Indians, has been fined for his team’s sluggish over-rate during their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 encounter against Punjab Kings at the PCA New International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur on April 18,” the statement read.

“The statement added that since it was his team’s inaugural offense of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct concerning minimum over-rate infringements, Pandya received a fine of Rs 12 lakhs.
